Egglescliffe Area Residents’ Association (EARA) would like to thank residents, schools, businesses and organisations for their support at our recent food bank collection. For the first time we had two collection points on Thursday 14th November 2024, one at Egglescliffe Parish Hall, Butts Lane, Egglescliffe, and one at Trinity Church, Witham Avenue, Eaglescliffe.
As can be seen from the attached photographs, a significant amount of non-perishable food and health care products were donated on the day.
In extending our gratitude to everyone for the backing we received for this initiative; it is important that we do recognise the contribution the following gave us on the day:
- Egglescliffe Parish Hall Association for allowing us to use Egglescliffe Parish Hall as a collection point;
- Trinity Church for allowing us to use the church as a collection point;
- Nifco;
- Tesco;
- Sainsbury’s
- One Stop;
- The 1st Egglescliffe Brownies and Guides;
- Junction Farm Primary School;
- Bestway Cleveland; and
- Councillor Stefan Houghton.
We transported all the products donated to The Salvation Army Headquarters, Palmerston Street, Stockton, in three vehicles on Friday 15th November. We were met by Major’s Ian and Sandra Davis, who were grateful for the products we brought. The Salvation Army are expected to make up many food hampers for vulnerable families in the Borough for Christmas, ensuring that they have a much better Christmas period ahead of them.
Once again, thank you for your support in this endeavour, which we hope to repeat in November 2025.
